OVER 700,000 ANDROID DEVICE ACTIVATIONS DAILY

According to the head of the “Bureau of Android Statistic”, Andy Rubin, Googles director of mobile platforms, there are now over 700,000 Android devices activated on a daily basis. For those who are wondering, each device is only counted once. If a consumer purchases a used device, that device is not counted. This more than doubles the amount of devices that were being activated this time last year.

All of Googles wireless competitors, including Apple, don’t share their activation statistics. One source has the numbers for the iPhone and the iPad at 315,000 units activated on a daily basis. Androids share of the smartphone market has continued to dominate statistics. According to statistics, Android was on 44% on all smartphones sold in the 3rd quarter, up 11% from the second quarter.

Android has become the most popular mobile OS in the world. Is there anything or anyone that can stop it? What do you think?
